FAQs

Where is Shizura Matcha grown?

Our matcha is proudly grown in Japan, where centuries of cultivation meet ideal growing conditions. Our first-harvest matcha is sourced from carefully selected regions known for producing vibrant, smooth green tea, while other teas in our collection come from equally respected areas across Japan.

Each region’s climate, soil, and growing methods influence the flavor, color, and character of the tea. Some matcha offers a naturally creamy, mellow taste, while others bring brighter, more robust notes.

We believe exploring different origins is part of the experience. As our collection grows, we invite you to discover how regional craftsmanship shapes every cup—and find the matcha that fits your daily wellness ritual.

Is matcha good for you?

Matcha is made from finely stone-milled green tea leaves, meaning you consume the whole leaf and all of its naturally occurring compounds. It contains antioxidants, chlorophyll, and the amino acid L-theanine, which is known for promoting a sense of calm and focus.

Thanks to the unique combination of L-theanine and naturally occurring caffeine, matcha provides smooth, sustained energy—without the jitters or sudden crash commonly associated with coffee. Many people choose matcha as a gentler way to feel alert, balanced, and ready for the day.

How do I make the perfect matcha?

Start by adding ½–1 teaspoon of matcha to a bowl or cup. Sift if desired to create a smoother texture.

Add 1–2 oz of hot water (ideally between 140–175°F / 60–80°C), then whisk using a bamboo whisk or frother until the matcha is fully dissolved and lightly frothy.

Enjoy it traditionally with water, or turn it into a latte by adding 4–6 oz of milk or your favorite milk alternative. Serve hot or over ice for a refreshing start to your day.
